Squid(Calamari) Boiled Down In-Soy-Sauce Ohjingoh Joreem 오징어 조림

The Octopus and Squid are carnivorous Mollusks that belong to the Cephalopod family. Calamari, another name for squid, is a good choice for your healthy lifestyle, whether you're interested in losing weight or just making sure you give your body the nutrients it needs.

 

 

Cleaned and cut calamari.

Do not put water when you boil it. 

After boiled squid for 2-3 minutes.

1 tablespoon brown sugar (or 1 tablespoon plum extract 2 tablespoons soy sauce

1-2 clove garlic,minced or grated

1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar

1/2 cup broth from boiled squids
 sememe seeds and pepper if needed
Bring all ingredients in a small pot, boil and stir the sauce for 5-7 minutes on medium heat until the sauce becomes thicken and combine squids into it.

Squid Boiled down  in-soy-sauce until chewy ojingoh.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 a large squid (calamari)                                                            

 Squid sauce 

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup  broth from boiled squids

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar( or 1 tablespoons  plum extract)

  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced or grated

  • 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • sesame seeds and pepper if needed

 

Instructions

 

Ojingoh (squid)

Bring a large squid cut into half  and clean inside and wash it in the water. Cut squid into matchsticks into a small pot. Placed the lid on the pot,Heat it over medium heat, cook for 4-5 minutes until completely cooked. Squids shrank and bring about half cup of squid broth to use for thicken sauce. Turn off heat and then separate squids and squid’s broth. Set aside.

Thicken sauce                                                                                          

Bring broth from squid into a small pot, add soy sauce,brown sugar, garlic and rice vinegar and mix well. Heat a small pot over medium heat, boil  for about 4-5 minutes until the sauce become thick, so it is thick and look shine.

Combine squid into thicken sauce, heat on medium low heat, stir it for another   2-3 minutes and then remove from the heat. Drizzling sesame seeds and pepper  if needed.

Enjoy chewy calamari with a glass of wine!
