Seasoned Seaweeds Salad Miyeok Muchim
미역 무침

Seaweed salad or soup is typically consumed by women after giving birth as walame contains a high content of calcium and idine, natrients that are important for nursing mothers. Many women consume it during the pregnancy.
Miyeok is also very soothing for your stomach!




Seasoned Seaweed Salad

Ingredients

15 grams(11/2 fresh miyeok) dried miyeok

1/3 cup soy sauce

1 teaspoon fresh lemon,squized
-
1 teaspoon plum extract( or ½ teaspoon sugar)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds
-
1 teaspoon sesame oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic, grated or minced
-
½ teaspoon red chille papper flakes
-
½ tablespoon scallion, chopped
Instructions
In a large bowl, soak dried miyeok in hot water for 10-15 minutes until soft
and rinse out 3-4 times with hand and drain in a colander.
Bring it into boiling water for 1-2 minutes until fully soften and drain in a
colander with drizzing cold water to look fresh green color of miyeok. Cut
into 2 inches length if it is not pre-cut. Set aside.
In a small bowl mix together soy sauce, lemon juice, plum extract,sesame
seeds, sesame oil, garlic, red chille pepper flakes and scallion for seasoning.
Useful left over sauce later.
Gently mix miyeok with the seasoning or drizzing over it when start to eat.
